Understand your contract Once you’ve chosen the perfect yacht for your trip, your broker will prepare the contract which is a legally binding document. We ensure that every client fully understands their yacht charter contract before setting sail. Be aware from the outset that the quoted charter fee is not the full amount that you will pay. It is usual to pay an advance provisioning allowance towards the cost of food, fuel and berthing, and any funds remaining at the end of your charter will be returned in full. Crew gratuities are usual but at your discretion. Transparency is key to a seamless luxury experience, and our team of experts is here to guide you through every detail of your agreement. All aboard Most charter yachts can accommodate between 6 to 14 guests, but a few can accommodate well in excess of 20. You can choose how long to rent a yacht for, depending on the yacht's availability. Commonly, yachts are booked for one or a few weeks but some offer daily charters or the option to use the yacht for an event. Additionally, annual charters are available for those who want to take a trip around the world.

It is customary to rent a yacht for a full week, but it is not mandatory. You can choose to rent the yacht for a period of less than a week or more.

The yacht with crew service, plus all the necessary equipment, is included in the charter rate and is insured for marine risks. Rates do not include VAT, provisioning, fuel, electronic communications, canal fees, harbor dues, local taxes, specific marina fees, delivery/return fees, or any expenses related to embarkation/disembarkation at a different location from the yacht's home port.

Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) is the amount to cover any running expenses while on board (e.g. transport, fuel, food, berthing dues, harbor charges, agency fees, equipment requested etc.). The final APA % is determined by the vessel and is usually estimated between 25% - 40% of the Charter Fee. APA is handled by the Captain, who is required to keep an itemized report of all expenses incurred and will present to the client before disembarkation. Any remaining funds will be returned to the charterer either in cash or by bank transfer at the end of the charter.

Tipping is discretionary, if you would like to tip it is usually around 5% – 25% of the charter fee.

You will receive a sample itinerary from NYG to help understand the locations and recommendations while on charter, once on board you can discuss the itinerary with the captain who will have wealth of local knowledge of the area and an outline will be planned. The itinerary can be amended at any time while on charter and any requests can be discussed with the captain. Chartering a vessel is a unique bespoke experience and custom-made to the personal taste of the charterer and guests. Please note the itinerary is sometimes weather dependant.

When a selection of yachts is presented to the client it will specify if the yacht has wifi. In the modern day of technically most yachts will offer high speed wifi coverage. If wifi is an important criterion, please let us know and we will specify this during our yacht selection process.

Every detail counts. Several weeks before your charter begins, your Navalmare Charter Consultant will reach out to you and ask you to fill out a detailed questionnaire including all preferences and special requirements for members of your party. This sheet will cover dietary preferences, medical requirements, details on any allergies, favorite activities, sporting and entertainment requests. Knowing your preferences will enable us and the crew to make sure that you have everything that you need on board and that you have an unforgettable experience.

Definitely yes, most yachts have highly trained and experienced private chefs onboard that can cater for all your dietary needs. Please ensure that any allergies are detailed on the preference forms, and we are notified of any special requirements.

Yes, you are allowed to use all amenities on the yacht and enjoy it as if it was your own.

Yes, in the first instance children are the responsibility of the parents/guardians on board and will need to be always supervised. The crew is extremely experienced and well trained, and the captain will deliver a safety briefing once all guests have embarked. A nanny can be requested to ensure that the children are having a safe and fantastic time swimming and enjoying the many water toys on offer. Some yachts will allow smoking on the exterior of the yacht and may dedicate a specific smoking area, it will be individual to each yacht. All interior spaces within the yachts are designated as non-smoking. Please do let us know if you want to smoke and we can advise you accordingly.

If you want to bring your beloved pet with you, please ensure this is identified at the request stage. Some yachts will allow pets onboard and will be specifically search for the most suitable yachts to fit your requirements.

In local waters the yacht will be governed by local laws, when in international waters the yacht is governed by the yachts flag state. Please note that it is prohibited to have illegal drugs and weapons on board at any time.

Under the standard MYBA Charter Agreement, cancellation terms depend on the timing of your notice. Generally, if a cancellation occurs after the deposit is secured but before the final installment, the owner is entitled to retain the initial deposit. If the full charter fee has been settled, it is typically non-refundable, although the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is returned in full.
